“Jewel of Medina” - Satu Penghinaan kepada Umat Islam

Jika sebelum ini dengan buku “Satanic Verses” oleh Salman Rushdie dan kartun menghina Nabi Muhamad di akhbar di Denmark, kini dengan “The Jewel of Medina” pula yang ditulis oleh badut baru bernama Sherry Jones. Di atas adalah gambar muka depan sebuah buku tersebut yang menghina junjungan besar Nabi Muhamad S.A.W dan mencabar umat Islam keseluruhanya.
Buku ini dikatakan menceritakan kisah fiksyen mengenai isteri Nabi Muhamad S.A.W, Aishah R.A. Buku ini mendapat kritikan yang hebat di kalangan pengkaji-pengkaji sejarah Islam barat dan juga telah ditolak oleh penerbit Random House Publishing Group. Alasan yang diberikan adalah buku ini bakal mewujudkan suasana tidak senang di kalangan orang Islam.
Namun buku ini dijual di Amazon.com, suatu portal penjualan buku yang terbesar di dunia.
Kita di Malaysia harus menyarankan hal ini kepada kerajaan untuk mengharamkan buku ini sejak dari awal dari memasuki negara ini.
